My 27 yr old husband was diagnosed with a small hydrocele in the area of his right testicle after being in a alot of pain after sex last Friday. He's seeing the urologist tomorrow, but I had some questions for anyone with experience with this. 1.) If the hydrocele in on the right side, why did his left testicle hurt worse? 2.) Will this pain always happen after sex or was this kind of a fluke? 3.)Does anyone have any advice for dealing with this? I know surgery might have to be had, I was just hoping for some insight. Thanks so much!!!

Surgery is the last resort. It is painful and will take MONTHS to heal. If he is healthy (his age plays to his favor) then he should avoid surgery. Always get a second opinion, if the urologist feels strongly about it.
