My husband enlisting in the army..please give me advice.?

My husband has been trying to enlist for almost a year. He's done his physical and passed and scored high on the ASVAB. The reason he can't join is because his high school says that there is a felony on his record, and there really isn't. The Army Recruiters couldn't find it anywhere except for at the school. So they say with this mysterious ';felony'; and having a G.E.D. instead of a diploma, the felony cancels out the G.E.D., and he has to return to regular school and get his actual diploma to be able to join. Now, he's working on that now, but I know a few people right here in town who have already enlisted, and have more than one felony that CAN be found. Now is this discrimation?? Is there anything else we can do? I'd appreciate any advice or help from anyone. Thank you very much in advance. My husband enlisting in the army..please give me advice.?
Hmmm...a lot of what you're saying doesn't seem to make sense.

First off, if they did a background check and found no felonies on his police record, then that's what they go with. Schools don't have access to a person's police record, nor would they be able to give that information to the military. For one, the military doesn't ask a high school if John Doe has any felonies, and number two, the military doesn't usually contact a person's high school to begin with. The person wishing to enlist provides a copy of their diploma or GED and that's that. Not to mention, for the majority (if not all) of the time a person is in high school they are minors (under 18), and a minor's criminal record is usually private.

Chances are, your hubby isn't getting in because he has a GED, and from what I've heard around here, the Army isn't accepting GED enlistees right now.

And yes, some people are admitted into the military with felonies because they get a waiver for them.

There's something hinky about your story and you either didn't understand everything your husband was telling you, you're not recounting it correctly here, or your husband didn't fully understand what the recruiter told him. And what the heck does ';having a GED instead of a diploma, the felony cancels out the GED'; mean? That makes NO sense. My husband enlisting in the army..please give me advice.?
Something wrong with this situation. The recruiter could easily ask the school what the circumstances of the ';so called'; felony are. Also, only a court can find you guilty of a felony. There are too many glitches in your story.
